Converting a PDF to Adobe Acrobat 5 format

When attaching a PDF explanation you may get an error that the PDF is incompatible, this is because the government gateways are only able to accept up to Acrobat 5 format, if your PDF is incompatible you will need to follow this guide to convert it to Acrobat 5 format.

Install Bullzip, keep all the options as default:

Step 3:

  1. Open the Bullzip printer PDF options by typing “Bullzip” into the windows search bar:  



  2. Set the file name and location you want the converted file to have on the general tab: 


  3. Set the Document compatibility level as PDF 1.4 (Acrobat 5.x) on the Document tab and then click Apply and close the options by clicking ok.


Step 4:

  1. Open the PDF you want to attach In Adobe Acrobat Reader then go to File > Print. 
  2. Select the Bullzip PDF Printer from the dropdown list of available printers: 


  3. Print the document by clicking the Print button:
  4. Click Save on the Bullzip window:
  5. The converted document should now be available at the file location and name you set in the options on step 3:


  6. You can now attach this document within BTCSoftware without errors.
